In 1968, I married a Black man. My traditional Jewish parents didn't speak to me for two years. In 1970 I gave birth to our son and my parents began speaking to us. In 1975, while we were on vacation in Rhode Island, my husband was killed in a car accident. In 1977, I married another Black man, a musician. We divorced in 1982, but still remain friends. I have led a rather interesting life.

This presented both cultural and racial differences within the relationship. I have two female children, one from the first marriage, one from the second.
